JJ Massa ~

JJ is a super cool author. Mercy, has October been a nice month for me. I had seen JJ in Romantictimes Book Club advertisements and reviews as well around Yahoo groups where I belong. I entered a contest she had going and won!

Here’s JJ’s website. Check it out.

I won a copy of ROCKS AND HARD PLACES. When I read it I’ll post a critique.

Barbara Karmazin

What a wonderfully generous author! She sent me a print copy of THE HUNTRESS to make up for all my lost e-books! Stop by and check out her website! http://www.sff.net/people/selkiewife/

As soon as I get the time to read it, I’ll do a critique, but I’ve read fabulous reviews of TH! Anyone reads it ahead of me- NO spoilers.

Until Later,

Covers

I was thinking about covers the other day. My partner in crime has talked about how eye catching ones can rivet your attention. I have bought books because of a cover more than I'd like to admit.

Smart bitches, trashy books does a lot of blogging about various covers and loving and hating them. Man titty is a big snark of theirs. http://www.smartbitchestrashybooks.com/index.php/weblog/index/

I like a male chest but yes the man with bigger boobs than me, is *cough* a little disconcerting. A male chest prompted me to buy Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Best thing I ever did *grins*.

May the muses have good covers

Recent reads~

JUMPING THE FENCE
CROSSING THE LINE
By Stephanie Vaughan

Very GOOD reads!

These are both m/m traditional romances. The depth of characters, the emotional struggles as they come to terms with their lives in finding love, and great writing will keep you turning the pages. *Whisper* Jamie in CTL is my favorite character out of the four leads. I have a thing for the tortured souls. I also think CTL is a bit longer and I prefer staying with my characters longer.

I’m really glad I ran a cross these titles while I was surfing Losse Id.
http://www.loose-id.com/default.aspx I had gone to Losse Id on a mission to buy BLOOD KISS by a very talented writer Mechele Armstrong. http://mechelearmstrong.com/ And read a blurb for CTL. Bought it as well! Loved it! And then went back for JTF.

The reason the m/m concept drew my attention is because Lany and I have been working on an m/m romance on and off for a while now. It’s on the back burning, but it was nice to see a bit of what’s out there for this genre.

As our bio states Lany and I started writing together in fan-fiction. Right before we took our writing off loop our newest thread was an m/m romance. I’m still surprised at the amount of fans the thread garnered. It was very neat. The response inspired us to try one for publication. Wish us luck!

My character Chad Lohan has more issues and baggage then any one guy deserves. The question is, is Tayson Jansen man enough to handle them all?

Until later,

E-books part 2

Poor Mel :(. I hope you recover your ebook collection.

I'd be so sad if anything happened to my ebooks or my print books. We did have a computer crash once. The dh had tons of music videos, he'd downloaded over a few years. They all got wiped out. So feel your pain.

I wondered, do you find you'll purchase things in ebook, you might not in print? I think that's an explanation as to why erotic romance is so popular in ebooks. I'm a lot more comfortable than I used to be buying books with sexy covers or back covers. It used to embaress me.

May the muses have backups

E-books ~

I’m going to take a moment to *wail* It only really hit me this past week. I lost ALL my e-books in the reload of my computer. The virus that attacked my computer cost me around 50 plus e-books. I had some really good stuff there. Some new authors I had discovered via the internet. I had bought from several e-publishers. EC. Loose Id. New Concepts.

I also lost my book file in my e-mail. I had been storing titles of e-books I wanted to order. I had slowly been going through them. Recommendations welcome!

*Grin* I’m also accepting donations.

I plan to restart my collection with a great book called. BLOOD KISS by a fabulous author named Mechele Armstrong.

Want a book that offers shivers of fear and quivers of desire? BLOOD KISS will induce both. This vampire psychological thriller will heat you up with sensual encounters. Check out
http://www.mechelearmstrong.com/ for more! It’s set for release this month!

Until later~
