A great cause

The Weekend to End Breast Cancer

A lovely lady I know from the blogosphere and Yahoo loops is going to participate. She's trying to raise donations. If you can, help her out. It's a wonderful cause.

News:

We have exciting news! This morning EC announced the authors for this years Caveman anthologies!

Okay, around Christmas we were contacted by our editor....and at our editor's request Viking's Pledge was submitted to EC for review to be placed into a Caveman anthology. And look who'll be in with us so far!

Charlotte Boyett-Compo - Wendy's Summer Job
Melany Logen - Viking's Pledge
Cheyenne McCray - Taking It All

This is so blasted neat! *tosses confetti* We'll all be part of the June Caveman release.

I think it'd be really neat if my new friend Rebecca Airies made it into June's issue, too. It was so awesome to see her listed as well. Congratulations, Rebecca! *tosses more confetti*

Until later~

10 things I do when I'm procrastinating

  1. Blog.
  2. MySpace. I can't ignore a Friend Request but so long. *blinks*
  3. Google my names and books. You never know when someone will mention how much they enjoyed my/our book *big cheesy grin*.
  4. Read other blogs, Yahoo news, and Yahoo groups.
  5. Clean the cat's litter box. Yes, must be desperate to procrastinate.
  6. Organize my favorite internet sites. It was getting long and hard to find anything.
  7. Check the WeatherBug forecast for snow. The kids are dying for it *blinks*.
  8. Go to PetFinder and look up dogs and cats. *sigh* the kids want another cat, and I want another dog...one day. The hubby is exhasperated with having one pet.
  9. Research some obscure subject like, blood splatter or obssessive compulsive disorder. You never know when it will come in handy for a book.
  10. Play You Sunk My Battleship. The *&%* computer always wins.

This topic was happily stolen from Suzanne McMinn. What do you do when you procrastinate?

February is coming

And why can't I wait?

Let's see...Robin Schone's new book Scandalous Lovers comes out. I've been needing a Schone fix for a while now.

The next Secrets of Droon book comes out making my oldest daughter very very happy.

Valentine's Day *G*.

And oh, yes, the biggest reason I'm looking forward to February....

MARISSA ALWIN'S HEART ON HIS SLEEVE RELEASES FROM ELLORA'S CAVE!! On Valentine's Day. I've gotten a preview and it's an excellent romantic read to settle down with. It will invoke the proper mood *nods nods nods*.

Ellora's Cave is celebrating the good old days

Right now on the Ellora's Cave Chatters list with Scott Carpenter and Sahara Kelly.

You can also watch me blather and babble my way through messages. I'm such a big fan of those two. I love their Partners in Passion series, of which a new one comes out this week! I also read their solo works. And Scott has done several of my covers as Mechele. I feel like falling to the ground like Wayne and Garth and saying, "I'm not worthy..." *sigh* but I'm mostly holding it together *Grins*.

New Year, new projects!

Wow! 2006 was great to us. Melany saw her first release to good reviews! Viking's Pledge was contracted! Two other stories were submitted. *fingers crossed* both are up for review in the near future.

One of the great things about writing for Ellora’s Cave is the publisher doesn’t try to box you into a genre. Torc’s Salvation is a futuristic. Viking’s Pledge a historical. Another great thing is you can write different lengths quite comfortably. TS is a novel plus… as is Law’s Deliverance one of the stories up for review. It’s around 95K! Ingram’s Charm also up for review is a novella. Now, another good thing about Ellora’s Cave is they offer special projects to their authors.

Themed Quickie!

These themed Quickies are nice! Quick! A taste of an author’s voice. Also, they help fill in a backlist for those authors who tend to write long– like us. ;) But, they’re tougher to write. They’re compact. No extra room to maneuver. You have to hit each plot point on the mark. Balance romance, tension, premise, and sex. And do it all within 15K!

Lany and I are working on a June Bride Quickie for EC. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

We’re also working on Kyrand’s Reward. Part three in our Soul Shifter series and another plus novel!

We tend to write two projects a time. A plus novel and a shorter one of some sort. Once the June bride is in…we plan to tackle a special historical novella. I’m very excited about this one! Master’s Claim will be tackled after the new historical. But, I’ve PROMISED Zilar –MC’s hero- to add another scene or two, so I’ll go ahead and do that. *Whispers* if the man keeps his behavior up, I’m going to have to warn Lany...Master’s Claim could rate an EX-treme heat level. The man even makes me gasp!

Until later~
