The best kind of compliment
I sent some writing to a friend to read over. I got a very excited IM back. She loved the story. And had lost track of time reading our writing.
I can't think of any better compliment for writing than, "I lost track of time reading," or, "I kept having to turn the pages."

I agree with you! It's great when your story pulls someone in and they fall inlove with the world and characters you've created.
