WORKSHOP: "All About Erotic Romance"

USA Today Bestselling Erotic Romance author Angela Knight will teach amonth-long class on erotic romance, available at no cost to members ofPassionate Ink. She'll talk about how ER must be structured differently from"vanilla" romance in terms of character and plot. She'll also discussdetails such as language use, description, writing the love scene, and howto create good heroes and heroines. The lectures also include extensivequotes from a survey she conducted in her readers' group. More than 50 womenresponded to questions such as, "How do you feel about the F word in anerotic romance?" and "What do you think of Alpha Heroes - and what turns youoff about them?"

There will be a total of 12 lectures during the month-long October class.Angela will also answer questions.


Angela Knight is a USA Today bestselling author for Berkley. She's writtenthree novels for that company, and is under contract for three more. Herlast book, Master of the Moon, spent three weeks on the USA Today list inMay, 2005.

In 2005, Hot Blooded, a Berkley anthology featuring one of Angela'snovellas, won the Borders Group Bestselling Anthology of the Year. She alsowon Best Erotic Romance from Romantic Times Bookclub the same year.

Angela knew she wanted to be a novelist at an early age; her first book waswritten in pencil and illustrated in crayon. She was nine years old at thetime. But her mother was enthralled, and Angela was hooked.

In the years that followed, Angela managed to figure out a way to make aliving -- more or less -- at what she loved best: writing. After a shortcareer as a comic book writer, she became a newspaper reporter, coveringeverything from school board meetings to murders. Several of her storieswon South Carolina Press Association awards under her real name.
In 1996, she discovered the small press publisher Red Sage, and realized herdream of romance publication in the company's Secrets 2 anthology. She hassince published five novellas in Secrets; a sixth will be out in December,2006. Red Sage also published her novel, The Forever Kiss, which was thecompany's first full-length book.

Her novels include The Forever Kiss, Jane's Warlord, Master of the Night andMaster of the Moon. Anthologies include Berkley's Mercenaries, Kick Ass,Hot Blooded and Bite; Secrets Volumes 2,3,6, 7, 11 and 14; Hard Candy and InOther Worlds from Loose Id; Tales from the Temple 2 from Ellora's Cave; andshort stories "The Dark One" and "The Vampire's Christmas" from Changeling.
